Josh Montgomery DVM

Owner and Veterinarian

Dr. Montgomery was born and raised in Washington - just north of Seattle. His love of animals was passed down by his mother, Robyn. Growing up, there was never a shortage of animals in the house and around the property. From exotic birds to horses, Josh’s family shared their lives with animals of all types.
As a teenager, Josh volunteered at a local veterinary hospital. He started out cleaning cages and walking dogs, but over the years, he gained knowledge and experience in the veterinary field that motivated him to follow his dream of becoming a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from WSU and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. He returned to WSU to complete his clinical year prior to graduating in 2007.

Over the last decade, Dr. Montgomery has worked as a general veterinary practitioner throughout the Greater Seattle area. His philosophy is based on educating clients and providing them with option-based care to help them choose what is best for their companions.

In his spare time, Josh is an avid outdoorsman. He enjoys hiking, camping, running, skiing, surfing, and doing just about anything else that involves the mountains. He has a spirited Labrador retriever named Mick Jagger who frequently accompanies him on his adventures.

Dr. Montgomery dedicates Montgomery Mobile to the memory of his longtime canine companion, Maddie. Because of her relentless strength, loyalty, and friendship, she was - and continues to be - an inspiration to Josh.

Illiana Quimbaya AM, PhD, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Quimbaya, known by her clients as Dr. Q., was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, but escaped the sweltering heat after high school. She spent 14 years in Massachusetts working on her higher education, earning an AB, AM, and PhD from Harvard and a DVM from Tufts University’s Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. She decided to move out to the Pacific Northwest after veterinary school to escape the snow.
Dr. Q’s main interests in veterinary medicine are exotic companion animals, allergy/dermatology, behavior, geriatric medicine, dentistry, and nutrition - a little bit of everything! In addition to fleeing areas of extreme weather, Dr. Q enjoys reading in her hammock, watching movies, playing board games, doing jigsaw puzzles, traveling, learning foreign languages, teaching her fish tricks, hiking with her Jack Russel terrier named Dudley, taking pictures of her axolotls, knitting, and sewing.

Austin Kroske

Office Administration & Veterinary Assistant

Born and raised in central Oregon, Austin had the beautiful pleasure of calling Bend and Redmond home. Cats, dogs, horses, pigs, and chickens have always been a part of his life, and since early childhood, he has always loved caring for and learning about animals.
In sixth grade, he had the pleasure of joining an amazing 4H group that changed his life’s path. Raising hogs proved to be both a challenge and a joy that made him realize just how rewarding hard work could be.

As the years have gone by, he has fallen in love with the great outdoors and appreciates the beauty of nature and the way a good hike can make any situation better. He also spent time working as a caregiver for the elderly with the main focus on dementia and Alzheimer’s patients. The job served as his most difficult and most rewarding occupation, and he claims that it changed his life in many incredible ways.

Today, Austin is honored to work alongside Dr. Josh Montgomery here at Montgomery Mobile. He loves getting to use his knowledge, education, and passion for animals as an office administrator and veterinary assistant. He is always looking for the next challenge and anticipates an inspiring future at Montgomery Mobile.

Mindy Van Tassel

Client Care Administrator

Mindy grew up in the beautiful village of Aniak, Alaska, where her love of animals and nature was cultured. From there, her family moved to South Dakota and became ranchers. Along with helping care for her family’s horses, cattle, chickens, and rabbits, she became involved in volunteer work at a local zoo.
As her passion for animals blossomed into a career, she became a zookeeper and cared for multiple species ranging from tigers and bears (oh my!) to reptiles, fish, and everything in between. She eventually met her husband, Tim, and they now have three beautiful daughters together.

The mountains called in 2012, and Mindy’s family moved west to Washington State with their two papillons, Flynn and Dutch. This move caused Mindy to become more heavily involved in the veterinary side of animal care. Her previous employment in an emergency animal hospital as a supervisor, veterinary assistant, and medical clerk has given her invaluable skills that she has brought with her to serve our clients here at Montgomery Mobile.

Coral Rodriguez LVT

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Coral grew up around luscious greenery and the sounds of coqui frogs on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. From a young age, she had a deep love and respect for animals. She participated in rescue work beginning in her teens and helped dogs and cats find loving homes off of the island and in the mainland United States.
Coral earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico. As fate would have it, she landed in another maritime city - Seattle - in 2015. There, she began studying to become a veterinary technician at Pima Medical Institute. She has been working as a licensed veterinary technician since 2016 and loves being able to help pets where they are most comfortable - at home! She looks forward to meeting your furry loved ones, too!
